Government Medical Schemes
The CHAS enables Singapore citizens from lower to middle income households, as well as all Pioneers, to receive subsidies for medical and dental care at participating General Practitioner (GP) and dental clinics.
The CTG supports caregivers of seniors and those with disability, including family members and Foreign Domestic Workers (FDW), to attend caregiver training courses so that they can equip themselves with the necessary skills in caring for the physical and emotional needs of their care recipients. The CTG provides subsidies of up to $200 per eligible care recipient per financial year.
You can access this programme at more than 700 GP clinics and GP groups around Singapore and use your or your family members’ MediSave (up to 10 accounts) to pay for out-patient treatment for these diseases up to $500 per account per year. Each claim is subject to a 15% co-payment in cash. This is applicable for 20 medical conditions currently, including some autoimmune diseases.
Medifund is an endowment fund set up by the Government to help needy Singaporeans who need further help with their remaining bills after receiving Government subsidies and drawing on other means of payments including MediShield Life, private Integrated Shield Plans (IPs), Medisave and cash. Usually applied through a medical social worker.
